I have been a member of this church since 2001 and have made life-long friends. I am active on the Admin. Council and am continually fulfilled by working beside some of the most devoted, loving people in the area! Please come worship and be in mission with me, and the rest of my church family, at the UMC of Pella!
Visited here (7/30/17) while traveling through the area and really enjoyed it! The pastor is so down-to-earth and (as a non-Methodist), I appreciated how he took the time to explain the different elements involved in the worship service. The congregation was friendly and welcoming.
We really enjoy the congregation and worship time both on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.
I was led to this church shortly after I moved here in 2000. It was a very foggy morning, and since I had seen several churches on most streets, I started out going west on University from Broadway, figuring I would have many choices. As I went buy UMC Pella, I didn't recognize the church as a church and ended up going to Hwy. 14, seeing no churches. I turned around to go home and as I came across the bypass, I saw a building and a lot of people in the parking lot, figured it had to be a church, and decided at this point wherever I could worship God, would be ok. To my surprise, it was the Methodist Church, and I grew up Methodist! I went in and prayed for a church that I could bring my gifts to as I had just gotten my B.S. in Biblical Studies and Management and Organized Leadership.and started working at the Christian Opportunity Center. It is now 16 years since then, and God lead me to the most wonderful church family, especially since I had no family near here. Over the years I led Bible Studies, on committees, etc. until 6 years ago when I became disabled and my UMC family have been as a true family that I really thank God for all of the time. If you are looking for a church that meets your needs, no matter what they are, this is it. Pastor Larson is very good at meeting and caring for every member. I do not have children, so it is very enjoyable to get to know them during fellowship time, and Wednesday nights. When you come to our worship service, be sure to find me, and I will share many of the programs, activities, and very welcoming and helpful people.
