My daughter was enrolled in the program at the Pella location for 5 months and will re-enroll in the winter. We had such a wonderful experience with the staff, program, and other students! This was my daughter's first experience. The staff was so supportive and encouraging! They provide such a warm, positive experience for all students! I would highly recommend this particular location to anyone considering Martial Atrts training for themselves or their children!
It has been a amazing experience and my son looks forward to classes each week. Mr. White and his associates have a gift for working with all age levels and giving just enough individual attention in a class setting. The reward of earning a new belt has sent my boy over the moon. I recommend it to everyone.
Matt and his wife Chris, operate a fantastic program, period! I began with Matt in June of 2016 when he first launched his Krav Maga program. I had never met the man prior. Matt is not a newcomer to running a martial arts program. He’s been in the business for a very long time operating a Taekwondo school in Pella and now Clive, and is a very decorated practitioner himself. I’m not as familiar with his wife’s background, but I’m assuming it’s fairly comparable. I have attended several different martial arts programs over the past few years and I can say unequivocally that Matt’s is the best I’ve come across. I find him to be a very even-keeled and patient individual. I’ve never seen him lose his temper or even raise his voice to a student. He maintains a professional image at all times. Every program I’ve attended prior to this one I’ve rather quickly gotten to know each student’s names, but even after a year here, I still only know a few and I say this for a very specific reason. All those other programs consisted of a lot of wasted time with far too much small talk going on and while there’s certainly nothing wrong with socializing a bit, at the end of the day I’m spending my hard-earned money to learn a skill, not to attend church. When the clock hits the minute class is to begin, it’s straight to business and it remains that way until the end. He keeps things moving at a very good pace and utilizes every minute. Something else noteworthy vs most of the other clubs I’ve attended is that Matt’s day job is Triumph and not something else. This means that he can devote all of his energy and resources to operating a school as a full-time business. The other thing that has greatly impressed me is that he is constantly striving to improve and expand the program. I have no significant complaints after a full year now and I plan to continue not only attending the advanced classes but the basic classes as well. His program is welcoming of everyone, young and old, male and female and you won’t find soldier of fortune type idiots in his class. Everyone I’ve came across thus far in class have been standup people with no chip on their shoulders. So to sum it up, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better program around central Iowa!
If you have a short attention span or like to “educate” yourself by reading a headline or the first two sentences only, then you might as well skip to the next review because we’ll just be wasting each other’s time. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a serious in-depth review, then we can be friends! So, pull up a chair and unpack your lunch and we’ll get started…I’ll break it up into two chunks; a review of Triumph and a personal reflection on why I chose Krav Maga (sorry, have to skip the KM part. They don't allow enough space).
